Define the purpose before the edit

Existing footage does not automatically define a production goal. Agree on the audience, channel, message and acceptance criteria before deciding how to remix it.

Confirm usage rights, product facts and excluded claims. Material containing client or third-party content must remain within agreed permissions. Receiving a file does not imply permission to publish it.

  • Identify the audience, communication task and channel specifications.
  • Agree on usable assets, factual boundaries and permissions.
  • Define the sample goal, reviewers and feedback process.

Make the idea reviewable through scripts and shots

Check the facts and narrative order before matching available shots. Captions, narration and sound should serve the same information goal rather than conflict with one another.

Confirm important statements at the script stage to reduce late discussions about direction. Processing capabilities depend on the footage, requirements and sample validation; do not assume every specification is covered.

Make review feedback actionable

“Make it more premium” is difficult to translate directly into a revision. Point to the shot, statement or rhythm that needs changing, and identify whether the concern is accuracy, brand expression or channel fit.

Human review owns the final decision. Check facts, permissions and delivery specifications before discussing local revisions. Retain the approved version so team members do not continue reviewing different files.

Let later versions inherit approved context

Ongoing creative production relies on reusable assets, clear goals and version records. New versions can address another channel or task, while factual and permission boundaries remain consistent.

When evaluating outcomes, distinguish production delivery from channel observations and business results. Sample and version delivery can be agreed; fixed views, CTR, ROAS or revenue cannot be guaranteed.

  • Retain the final version and important revision context.
  • Separate shared content from changes in the new version.
  • Validate a bounded sample before expanding production.
