A mention is a starting point

A brand appearing in an AI answer means it appeared under that particular question and set of conditions. It may not be a recommendation, may not describe the product accurately and does not establish sustained performance.

Record candidate inclusion, factual accuracy, selection reasons and evidence support separately. Separate observations make separate fixes possible.

A link appearing does not establish support

A citation may point to a home page or an article. Read the source and the relevant statement, checking that the subject, timing and scope correspond. A related source is not necessarily direct support.

Synthetic example: an answer claims a project tool supports a specific deployment option, but its source only describes general collaboration features. You can confirm a citation exists, without confirming that it supports the deployment claim. This is not a real platform measurement or client result.

Keep unknowns explicit

An inaccessible source, invalid observation or missing condition should not be presented as a proven advantage or failure. Identifying what remains unknown is often more useful than forcing a single overall score.

Explain platforms, question wording and observation methods under their actual conditions. An API observation does not automatically represent a consumer’s experience in a product interface.

  • Separate direct observation, source content and interpretation.
  • Record source scope and verification timing.
  • State what is needed to resolve the uncertainty.

Write a specific next action

For the deployment example, a priority action could be to confirm current product facts, improve public deployment documentation and align related pages. Merely adding brand names or publishing many similar articles does not resolve the evidence gap.

Actions need owners and acceptance criteria. Retests record questions, timing and environment, distinguishing resolved issues from those that remain. A favorable screenshot is not proof of stable performance.
